Fair Copy
A considered approach to building a significant home.

The problem we solve
You are the only party without an advocate.

Building a significant home involves dozens of consultants, hundreds of decisions, and years of sustained attention. Every professional on your project — the architect, the engineer, the builder — is engaged by you, but ultimately accountable to their own interests, their own programme, and their own bottom line.

Most homeowners navigate this alone, relying on their architect to coordinate the engineer, the builder to manage subcontractors, and their own instincts to know when something isn't right. That is not enough.

Fair Copy exists to sit on your side of the table. We are entirely independent — we do not design, we do not build, we do not take commissions from any supplier or consultant. We work for one person: you.

"The homeowner is the only party in a construction project with no professional advocate. Fair Copy changes that."

How we work
Six principles
that guide every project
01
Independence
No commissions, no referral arrangements, no financial relationship with any party other than you. Our advice is unfiltered by competing interests.
02
Rigour
We read every contract, cost plan and variation claim before you commit to anything. Careful reading at the right moment is worth more than any site inspection.
03
Advocacy
We ask hard questions on your behalf and do not soften them for the sake of professional relationships. Difficult conversations, handled early, prevent expensive disputes later.
04
Transparency
We handle the detail so you don't have to. When a decision needs your input, we bring it to you clearly — with context, a recommendation, and options. When it doesn't, we keep the wheels turning on your behalf. You'll never be left wondering what's happening, but you won't be buried in information you didn't ask for.
05
Commitment
We take on a small number of projects each year so every engagement receives the sustained attention it deserves. Your project is never background noise.
06
Continuity
We begin before the first appointment and stay until the last defect is resolved. The same two people who set your brief will hand you your owner's manual.
Who we are
Founded on one
simple observation
The homeowner is the only party in a construction project without a professional advocate in their corner. Fair Copy was built to change that — by people who understand what it takes to deliver a complex project and what it feels like to build a home of their own.
Hannah
Managing Director

Before Fair Copy, Hannah spent four years at Black Sheep Capital as an analyst and associate — sourcing investments, running due diligence, managing complex multi-party transactions with lawyers, accountants, co-investors and founders, and reporting to sophisticated stakeholders on portfolio performance. It's a world built on structured process, rigorous analysis, and the ability to manage long, high-stakes projects where the detail matters and the relationships are everything. Those are the same skills that define Fair Copy's service model.

Hannah holds a Master of Science in International Economics and Finance from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California. She has also been deeply involved in the design and delivery of her own recent home renovation — making decisions alongside architects and builders, navigating the same trade-offs and frustrations that every homeowner faces.

Steve
Technical Director
RPEQ Structural Engineer

Steve is a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in structural engineering with nearly twenty years' experience across high-rise commercial towers, multi-billion-dollar industrial infrastructure, and high-end residential architecture. He founded Rogue Engineering in 2022, delivering structural design for architecturally-driven residential projects with Brisbane's leading architects.

What this means for Fair Copy clients: when a builder presents a structural variation, Steve reads the engineering. When an architect's design creates a constructability challenge, Steve understands it at a technical level that a generalist project manager simply can't. When a complex site — steep slope, reactive soil, challenging retention, flood-prone land — needs someone who can assess the real cost and risk, Steve has done it hundreds of times.

Together

Fair Copy is a family business. We are a husband-and-wife team, and that isn't a marketing angle — it's a genuine fit. You are building a home for your family. We share the same stake in getting it right.
